We decided to build 5 Karts for the 2017 Power Wheels Racing Series. This was a huge undertaking and while all karts were finished and raced in Detroit, they weren't without their issues. Fortunately they were low quality bearings and tires that made up the majority of the issues.

Our 2017 CAD data is located Solidworks Here and .STP Here
Chassis
This was built from standard 1x1x.062 (16 gauge) mild steel. It is a ladder style.
Rear Axle
The rear axle was designed to be a complete drop in powertrain. The motor, speed controller, brake and drive assembly are all part of this single unit. It is made from thin wall tube and u-bolted into place. Our original hubs were a key'ed metal hub welded to stock 4 bolt hubs. Later we changed to a cheaper keyed hub that was smaller, that had a welded plate with a bolt pattern on it. The motor and brake mounts were originally made by hand, and then replicated with waterjet versions. To Be Continued
