Re: Chargers
Some other successfully run chargers and power supplies (on 8S1P Leaf packs).
iCharger 3010B
Requires a separate power supply. Can handle 10S at 1000W (30A max current regardless of cell count). Supports balancing. Various places for ~$190.
iCharger 4010 Duo
Charges two batteries at once. Can charge two 10S packs at 40A each in theory. We've been mostly using it for 15A each; 40A x2 would be too much for our power supply, and gets well into breaker-tripping territory. Supports balancing. Various places for $350.
Turnigy 1080W power supply
Good fit for a 30A charger. Found various places for $130 - $150.
Hacked HP DBS-600PB power suply
Following the directions at https://www.rchelicopterfun.com/dps-600pb-build.html, it's fairly simple to convert an HP computer supply into a 12V 575W power supply that can be hooked up in series. They can be found for as little as $20, or easily for $30. We've been using three in series to power the dual charger.
